Art Is Everywhere.

As we go throughout our fast-paced lives, it is often suggested that we stop and smell the roses. In this narrative the roses symbolize experiences, emotions, and even people that come in and out of our lives.

When in Los Angeles this past week, I decided to really stop and smell the roses and focus on this narrative. Within the first couple of hours of my arrival, I decided to explore a nearby art museum, the J. Paul Getty Museum. Then a funny thing happened. After looking at an incredible oil painting of a chapel, I realized that artists don't just come up with these ideas in their heads. It is a combination of what they have come across in their lives and their imaginations. Therefore, isn't everything we see art? The way words float across a page, after being written with a fresh ballpoint, the dialect in which someone speaks that makes the same language sound and feel so different, the way a building falls in on itself when imploded to make room for the next. Even the way in which a car crashes into another. Everything is art, art is all around at all times.  It just depends how you decide to look at it, how you interpret it, or even if you even decide to take the time to stop and smell the roses.

Don't just look at art in a museum, look at the art that surrounds you every day.
